A year after a devastating train accident, five strangers, each burdened by personal loss, struggle to rebuild their lives in a fractured world. As fate draws them together on a single transformative night, their paths converge in a moment that could finally set them back on track.
 
ABOUT
Providence is a faith-based feature length script in the vein of Magnolia and Fruitvale Station. It follows the lives of of five people as they search for meaning and connection. Their choices lead them down dangerous paths until their lives collide on a single, fateful night.

Through heartbreak and redemption, these fractured lives intertwine, proving that even in a broken world, salvation can be found after making countless mistakes in life.

CHARACTERS

Moon

Moon is a junior pastor who found faith after the sudden loss of her emotionally distant parents. Though she’s deeply compassionate, she struggles to express her emotions and struggles with duty and desire.

 

She becomes more conflicted after her fiance walk out on her and she explores the world of online dating.

 

Her journey is one of spiritual and emotional awakening, as she learns that true leadership in faith requires vulnerability, sacrifice, and surrender to grace.

Jade

Jade is a rebellious spirit shaped by a deep bond with her father, who encouraged her to live boldly. This was often in contrast to her mother’s cautious worldview.

 

After losing her father in the train accident, Jade spiraled into self-destruction, haunted by regret over their final moments.

 

Now living the very lifestyle her father warned her against, Jade must confront her grief, reclaim her purpose, and become a role model for her younger sister Miley, proving that redemption is possible through love, responsibility, and change.

Miley

Miley is Jade’s optimistic but emotionally vulnerable younger sister. She idolized Jade and shared a quiet jealousy over her closeness with their father.

Left without her role model and feeling abandoned by her mother’s new relationship, Miley begins to drift and seeks connection online in dangerous places.

Her journey is about discovering her own identity, learning to value herself independently, and finding strength in the face of grief and isolation.

Charlie

Charlie is a devoted high school teacher and father whose world is shattered when his young son Christian dies in the train accident. Though he shared a tender final moment with Christian, he’s burdened by guilt that his wife Taryn missed it.

 

After twenty years in the classroom, Charlie impulsively quits his job, seeking a fresh start and deeper meaning.

 

His journey is one of grief, reinvention, and rediscovery. As he struggles to reconnect with his wife and reignite his passion for life beyond the roles he’s always known.

Oscar

Oscar is a sensitive sixteen-year-old from an affluent family, grieving the loss of his twin brother Peter, who died in the train accident. Their final moment was marked by a hurtful comment, which he deeply regrets.

 

Seeking a fresh start, he transfers to a new school but quickly faces bullying and isolation. With his parents emotionally distant and struggling with their own grief, Oscar begins to question where he belongs.

 

His journey is one of healing, identity, and learning to forgive himself as he navigates adolescence without his other half.
